Napoli winger Matteo Politano has admitted he is excited about his upcoming reunion with Inter in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
The Italian international winger joined Napoli in a loan with obligation to buy deal from Inter during the January transfer window and Politano will find himself back at San Siro next week when the two sides play the first of their two legged semi-final.
“We will go to San Siro with the aim of reaching the final. That is the minimum goal for now, then we will think about the Champions League. Taking on Inter will be exciting for me, I spent a beautiful year and a half there, I have many friends there,” the 26-year-old attacker explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli earlier on today.
Politano was then asked if new manager Gennaro Gattuso has been asking him for some advice regarding Antonio Conte ahead of the match between the side clubs: “He is just focusing on the objectives.”
In conclusion he spoke on what his current objectives are following his transfer to the Stadio San Paolo club.
“I aim to return to playing at great levels. Napoli can allow me to do this. Last year at Inter I did well, I have to go back to playing like last year. I want to do well.”
During his spell with Inter, Politano made 63 appearances across all competitions. He contributed six goals and as many assists in that time although none of those goal contributions arrived this season.
