Inter captain Samir Handanovic is likely to be starting on the bench tomorrow in the derby against AC Milan, with backup Daniele Padelli taking his place amongst the starting 11, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.
The report details how the 35-year-old Slovenian shot stopper trained separately again earlier this afternoon, during which he didn’t do any technical exercises with the ball. This makes it clear that the player won’t be able to start in tomorrow’s clash against the Rossoneri. There is still a chance he will be a part of the match day squad, but the final decision will come tomorrow morning.
Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen will be starting behind former Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, the report continues, as coach Antonio Conte looks to change Inter’s formation to a 3-5-1-1. The midfield three will be Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella and Matias Vecino, with Antonio Candreva and Ashley Young playing the wing back roles.
The back three is set to be Stefan De Vrij, Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio, who is only slightly preferred over veteran Diego Godin, the report adds. Stefano Sensi and Alexis Sanchez will start on the bench.
Inter Probable Line-up (3-5-1-1): Daniele Padelli; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan De Vrij, Milan Skriniar; Antonio Candreva, Matias Vecino, Marcelo Brozovic, Nicolo Barella, Ashley Young; Christian Eriksen; Romelu Lukaku.
