Inter Women have taken to social media platform Twitter to congratulate defender Beatrice Merlo on being named the player of the month in Serie A.
The 20-year-old Italian international beat Juventus’ Linda Sembrant, Empoli’s Lucia Di Guglielmo and Sassuolo’s Maria Luisa Filangeri to the award.
Merlo is a product of the Inter academy and was part of the team that won the Serie B title last season. Since debuting in 2014, she has made 121 appearances and has scored 21 goals in that time.
