Inter wing back Ashley Young has shared his delight with how he and his teammates came back in yesterday’s Milan derby win, which was his first experience of the derby.

“I think it was an incredible feeling. You could see the way we celebrated after the game showed the character and strength we’ve got,” he explained in an interview with British radio station Talksport earlier on today.

“To go 2-0 down in a derby like that then come back and win, that shows our character. It was an unbelievable experience.”

He then spoke on how playing in the Milan derby compared to some of the other games he has played in during his career.

“It definitely is up there. I came here to play football and win games, and when you come and win in the Milan derby in the way we did, it’s just an incredible feeling. I don’t think it gets any better than that.”

He concluded by speaking on how he has found life in Milan, a few weeks on from his arrival at the club.

“It’s not strange at all. I wanted a new challenge and I’ve got a new challenge and I’m loving every minute of my time out here.

“And, like I said, yesterday was an unbelievable feeling and I’m delighted we got the three points.”

Young joined Inter during the recent January transfer window from Premier League club Manchester United for a nominal fee. The experienced 39-time England international joined on an initial six month contract that comes with an option to extend for a further season.

Since his arrival Young has impressed many, particularly with his crossing ability and the engine he has for being 34-years-old.
