In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier on today, former Inter president and club owner Massimo Moratti has reflected on last night’s Derby della Madonnina between Inter and AC Milan.

AC Milan found themselves deservedly leading 2-0 at half time with thanks to goals from Ante Rebic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic but the game was flipped completely on its head in the second half.

AC Milan failed to continue their first half efforts whilst Inter found another gear and would complete a remarkable comeback to win 4-2, a result which sent them back to the top of the Serie A table.

The 74-year-old, who was at the helm of Inter for 18 years, firstly spoke on the match itself.

“It was a wonderful evening, it was the perfect match. AC Milan were good in the first half but Inter were better in the second half in one of the most beautiful derbies ever,” he began.

He then spoke on comparisons being made between current Inter manager Antonio Conte and former Inter manager Roberto Mancini, who was in fact in attendance at the match and Jose Mourinho.

“I can’t compare Conte to Mourinho or Mancini, they may have similar aspects and logic but they are very different from each other.”

He moved on to share his thoughts on Inter new boy Christian Eriksen.

“He impressed me with the little time he had on the pitch yesterday. He is a great champion and his effort that hit the bar was splendid. I have a lot of curiosity toward him.”
