Inter pocketed no less than €5.5 million from gate receipts for last night’s Milan derby against AC Milan according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

75,817 attended the match at San Siro and were treated to a derby that will be remembered for some time.

AC Milan took full advantage of Inter’s poor performance in the first half and went into the half time interval 2-0 up. Inter came out an entirely different side for the second half and absolutely crushed their city rivals who simply could not cope with them.

Within 10 minutes of the restart, Inter had things level thanks to Marcelo Brozovic and Matias Vecino and goals from Stefan de Vrij and Romelu Lukaku meant the game finished 4-2 in favour of the hosts who returned to the top of the Serie A table as a result.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to highlight that this was the fourth league match which Inter have had over 70,000 attend and fifth match across all competitions this season.
