Inter are taking their time to consider whether to bring Emiliano Viviano in to provide cover in the goalkeeping department according to a report from renowned Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

As a result of club captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic’s injury, Inter are pondering the idea of bringing in another goalkeeper whilst he is out of action.

With Handanovic out, Inter have had to rely upon Daniele Padelli but if Padelli were to go down injured, Inter would be left with 17-year-old Filip Stankovic or 36-year-old Tomasso Berni, who has never played a game for the club.

Viviano has already underwent – and passed – a medical with Inter and will train with Antonio Conte’s side whilst the club deliberate over whether to sign him up or not.

The 34-year-old is currently a free agent and was last on the books of Portuguese club Sporting, who he left back in September. In the next 48 hours Inter should come to a decision.
