Gazzetta dello Sport have named Stefan de Vrij as Inter’s best player in last night’s Milan derby victory over AC Milan as part of their player ratings which were published in today’s print edition.

The Dutch central defender scored Inter’s third goal in the 4-2 win over their city rivals and made several key interventions in defence.

Gazzetta dello Sport have given him an 8/10 rating and went so far as to say based on that performance, he is the best defender in Serie A.

Romelu Lukaku, who put the nail in AC Milan’s coffin by scoring Inter’s fourth goal, was the second best player with a 7.5 rating and Marcelo Brozovic, who captained the side and started the comeback with a long range strike, was joint third best with a 7 rating.

Matias Vecino, Nicolo Barella and Christian Eriksen also all got 7 whilst Alexis Sanchez, Victor Moses and Antonio Candreva all got 6.5.

Diego Godin and Ashley Young got 6, Milan Skriniar 5.5 and the worst performance on the night came from goalkeeper Daniele Padelli, who got a 5 rating.
