Douglas Costa faces a race against time to be available for Juventus’ upcoming Derby D’Italia match-up with Inter according to a training report from Juventus, which was posted on their official club website.

The Brazilian attacker underwent testing by the club’s medical staff today and the tests highlights a tear to the biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh.

He is expected to make a complete recovery within the next 15-20 days and with Juventus set to play host to their arch rivals on March 1, he should recover just before the match so long as there are no hitches along the road in his recovery.

The Bianconeri also confirmed that Brazilian full back Danilo, who arrived at the club this past Summer, resumed partial training with the rest of his teammates.

Juventus currently sit in second place in the Serie A table with the same points as table toppers Inter who have a superior goal difference to them. The match at the beginning of next month could well prove decisive in where the title ends up come May.
