Legendary Italian footballer Paolo Di Canio has shared his views on Sunday night’s Derby della Madonnina between Inter and AC Milan.

Inter headed into the match as the favourites but would find themselves two goals behind come half time after a rather dismal and certainly surprising display.

Whatever Inter manager Antonio Conte told the players at the half time interval certainly worked as a completely different Inter started the second half and soon found themselves on equal terms. Having shook AC Milan with a quick comeback, Inter then took the lead on the 70th minute mark and killed the game off in the final minutes to pick up a memorable 4-2 Milan derby win.

Di Canio, who is perhaps best known for his spells with Lazio and West Ham United firstly gave his thoughts on why Inter won the game at San Siro.

“Inter won with thanks to their character, Antonio Conte has passed his DNA onto his players. Brozovic got that goal and it changed the game,” he remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia show Sky Calcio Club earlier on today.

He then went on to praise Inter centre back Stefan de Vrij, who was solid at the back and scored Inter’s third goal of the game: “de Vrij done everything well and scored too. I’d give his performance an 8/10.”
