Juventus attacker Douglas Costa is unlikely to be available for their match with arch rivals Inter at the beginning of next month according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Brazilian international sustained an injury during Juventus’ shock 2-1 loss to Hellas Verona over the weekend and tests conducted by the club’s medical staff confirmed that he has a thigh muscle injury.

He is set to face between 15-20 days on the sidelines therefore it is difficult to imagine he will return for the match against Inter on March 1, which could prove decisive in the race for the Serie A title.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to state that Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is hoping that Giorgio Chiellini will be able to return in time to take on the Nerazzurri.

The experienced Italian international has been out since August due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury and is nearing full recovery.
