There were only a few players present at Inter’s Angelo Moratti Sports Centre training ground yesterday according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

After Inter’s Coppa Italia loss to Napoli on Wednesday night, Inter manager Antonio Conte admitted that this past Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina took a lot out of his players and that was evident by the team’s below par performance against Napoli, who won the first leg of two, 1-0.

Conte therefore took the decision to give the team a very rare day off yesterday to rest ahead of this weekend’s top of the table clash with Lazio.

Only Samir Handanovic, Sebastiano Esposito and Roberto Gagliardini were present at training. All three players are currently dealing with injuries and continued with their personalised training schedules which have been created to help aid them in their respective recoveries.

Handanovic has a hairline fracture in the small finger in his left hand, Esposito has a thigh injury and Gagliardini has bone edema in his foot.
