Claudio Vigorelli, the agent of Emiliano Viviano, has thanked Inter for showing an interest in his client after the club communicated to them that they would not be offering him a contract with the club.
Viviano was brought in to train with the Nerazzurri due to number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic going down with an injury, which has kept him out for a few games and expected to keep him out for a few more too.
The 34-year-old is a free agent having left Sporting and was given a chance to prove himself but with Handanovic set to return sooner than initially expected, the club have taken the decision to not offer Viviano any deal.
Reports in the media have suggested that 35-year-old Slovenian international Handanovic could make a return to action for Inter’s league match against Sampdoria in little over a week’s time.
“The agreement was clear from the very start, nobody promised us anything,” Vigorelli remarked in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.
“The club had some problems when Handanovic was injured, but after evaluating the situation carefully, they decided to continue with the goalkeepers already in their squad.
“We were pleased to receive attention from Inter and thank them for their interest. Emiliano was one of the protagonists for SPAL last season and will continue training as he waits for the next challenge.”
