Former Italian national team striker Bernardo Corradi has commented on Christian Eriksen’s lack of usage since his arrival at Inter during the recent January transfer window.

Eriksen has featured in all five of Inter’s matches across all competitions since his arrival in a circa €20 million deal from Tottenham Hotspur but has started just once and has not even played as much as half of the total minutes he could have potentially played.

Inter manager Antonio Conte has certainly found it difficult to find the ideal place in his system, which does not involve an attacking midfielder, which is Eriksen’s natural and best position.

“It is true that if Eriksen had been put on a little earlier he could have changed the fate of the game regardless of thi though, Lazio played better and especially in the second half, they deserved their win,” he remarked in an interview with Italian football show Pressing earlier on today.

“I do not know if Conte will be able to change his system in order to give more space to Eriksen”

Corradi then joined several others in coming to the defence of Inter goalkeeper Daniele Padelli who has come in for some criticism off the back of his performance in the match at the Stadio Olimpico.

“Lazio’s Strakosha was not impeccable either and I would say that it would be ungenerous to attribute Inter’s defeat to Padelli.”

Corrardi concluded the interview by discussing Lautaro Martinez and whether the Argentine’s poor performance last night could be put down to him possibly being distracted by all the recent speculation about interest from Barcelona and others.

“I think it is only a temporary problem. With Conte in charge and the club’s current ambitions, I do not think he can be influenced by the transfer market rumours. If I were Lautaro, I would see my future at a club like Inter who are growing.”
