Inter wing back Ashley Young has shared his delight at opening his goal scoring account with Inter in the 2-1 loss to Lazio last night.

The 34-year-old Englishman, who joined Inter in the recent January transfer window from Manchester United, started and finished off an excellent Inter counter attack to give the Nerazzurri a 1-0 lead just before the half time interval at the Stadio Olimpico.

Young’s goal however proved not to be enough for Antonio Conte’s men as they would conceded two avoidable goals in the second half as Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic put the ball in the back of the net for the hosts.

“It was a good game which was played well by both teams. On Thursday we will play against Ludogorets, a match which we have to give our all in. My goal? It is a great feeling, I am the first Englishman since Paul Ince to score in the Inter shirt,” he said in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV following the game.

He then spoke on one of the main things he has found out whilst adapting to Italian football: “There is a lot of tactical differences [compared to England].”

Since his arrival, Young has made five appearances across all competitions and his goal against Lazio is the second goal contribution he has had made with him having also tallied a single assist.
