Inter wing back Ashley Young refused to comment in detail on the penalty awarded against him and his teammates during their loss to Lazio last night.

Young gave Inter the lead in the match just before the half time interval at the Stadio Olimpico as he started and finished an excellent counter attack but the score was back level shortly after the second half began after Lazio were awarded a questionable penalty as Ciro Immobile went down in the box.

“I’m not the referee, it’s really difficult to decide if it was or wasn’t. I don’t know what to think. We lost the match, we had to give more and now we’ll try again next time,” he told the gathered media in the mixed zone after the match.

He was then asked if he thinks that off the back of this win whether Lazio can go all the way and win the Serie A title but he was quick to admit that he and his teammates are focused on what they are doing and not others.

“We think about ourselves and not about the others. We think about fighting, we believe in ourselves, we are three points behind and we look ahead to the next match.”

Next he was asked about Inter’s upcoming commitments in other competitions with them set to play their Europa League round of 32 tie against Ludogorets and following that the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi final with Napoli.

“Every competition is different but we want to win every game in every competition.”

He concluded by speaking on his goal: “I am happy with my goal but would have preferred to win the game”
