Diego Godin is to bid farewell to Inter at the end of this season just a season after arriving according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The experienced Uruguayan international centre back has struggled to adapt at Inter and has recently lost his starting berth in Antonio Conte’s team to Alessandro Bastoni, who he is 14 years the senior of.

Godin joined Inter on a free transfer ahead of this season from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid where he made a name for himself as one of the best defenders about but he has been unable to replicate such performances in a Nerazzurri shirt.

With Godin seemingly destined to depart the club, Inter have already began the process of scouting his replacement at the club.

As per the Turin based newspaper, Hellas Verona’s Marash Kumbulla is the player Inter hope to be able to replace Godin, who recently celbrated his 34th birthday, with.

Inter will need to pay at least €20 million to the Gialloblu to sign Kumbulla but should not have many problems agreeing personal terms with the player who is understood to be keen on a move to the club.
