In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Inter centre back Andrea Ranocchia has reflected on the two consecutive losses the team have had.

“Defeats must not undermine our certainties, let’s keep working. Obviously we would all be happier if there wasn’t any defeats but it is part of the growth path we are on,” he said.

Ranocchia is expected to start in tomorrow night’s Europa League round of 32 first leg match with Ludogorets at the Ludogorets Arena in Razgrad, Bulgaria, and he went on to discuss Inter’s squad as a whole and the confidence he has in all of his teammates ahead of the match.

“We have an important squad with valid alternatives. The manager will be able to allow those who have played less to play. Whoever will play tomorrow will do well.”

He was then asked about one of Inter’s newest recruits Christian Eriksen, who has not played as much as everyone was expecting him too since his arrival at the club from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the recent January transfer window.

“He has important technical qualities, he can play every role in the midfield. It will take him some time to adapt and to learn but he is an added value for us.”

The recently turned 32-year-old, who has been with Inter since January 2011, has made just four appearances across all competitions to date this season. In 360 minutes on the park, the 21-time Italian national team player, has contributed one goal.
