Legendary Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso believes that Inter should reach at least the semi finals of this season’s Europa League.
Inter begin their Europa League campaign away to Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in the first leg of their round of 32 tie in a few hours time.
“For Inter the real challenge is at the weekend, but it is still important to win and aim to reach at least the semi final stage of the Europa League,” he remarked whilst present in Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s studios earlier on today.
Cambiasso joined Inter ahead of the 2004/05 season from Spanish giants Real Madrid and would go on to spend the next ten years with Inter.
The defensive midfielder made no less than 431 competitive appearances across all competitions for the club during which time he scored 51 goals and provided 34 assists for his teammates.
Cambiasso played a pivotal role in what proved to be one of the most successful periods in club history as Inter won 15 trophies over a seven year period between his first season with the club and the 2010/11 season, a period which included Inter becoming the only Italian club in history to complete a treble including the Champions League.
