As things stand today, it will be very difficult for Inter captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to return in this weekend’s Serie A match at home to Sampdoria according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
He is still not quite ready yet to make a return from the hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand that he sustained in training a few weeks back but between now and the game he will try and do everything possible to make himself available although it seems unlikely he will be in any condition to be back.
Handanovic did not travel with his teammates to Bulgaria for tonight’s Europa League round of 32 tie with Ludogorets and as per the report, the club’s medical staff hope to be able to clear Handanovic to start some ball work either tomorrow or the day after that.
