In an interview with Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, highly rated Fiorentina central midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has stressed the commitment that he has to the Florence based club.

The 23-year-old has been one of the biggest revelations in Serie A this season and seemingly has a number of clubs, including Inter, interested in signing him come the end of this season.

Castrovilli however does not appear to be thinking about a potential future elsewhere, he admitted in the interview which appeared in today’s print edition.

“I signed the new contract because I believe in Fiorentina’s project. Three years ago when I arrived here for the first time, I still remember that I called my agent almost immediately and I told him I would have liked to stay here for a long time,” he said.

Next, he went on to share what he hopes to achieve in the coming years with the club: “I want to take Fiorentina to the Champions League, possibly within the next three years.”

Castrovilli, who was handed his first Italian national team appearance in November last year, is under contract with La Viola until the end of the 2023/24 season.

This season the former Bari player has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2000 minutes in total on the field, he has scored three goals and tallied two assists.
