Former Inter striker Arturo Di Napoli has shared his thoughts on how Inter’s season has went so far for them in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva earlier on today.
Inter remain competing on three fronts at this stage of the season. In the league they are currently in third place and just three points off of top spot, they are in the Coppa Italia semi finals and also look set to make it into the Europa League last 16 after their first leg win over Ludogorets last night in Bulgaria.
“Inter are having an extraordinary season and the Europa League is a prestigious cup to be in. Inter have the players to enable them to rotate. Even if they have a small squad, it is a quite complete and important one,” he began.
He was then asked about the title race and who he thinks are the best team in it between Juventus, Lazio and Inter.
“I think Juventus are always the team to beat, even if they are more focused on the Champions League. I do not think that they expected Inter and Lazio to be so prepared.”
Di Napoli then went on to discuss Inter new boy Christian Eriksen, who scored his first goal for the club in last night’s match.
“The Dane is an extraordinary player and a top player like him can play in any role. Our league is very difficult, we must give him the chance to be able to adapt.”
Di Napoli joined Inter in 1997 but failed to make any sort of impact in the few appearances he was limited to and was then sold to Vicenza, just a few months after having arrived at Inter from Napoli.
