Davide Lippi, the agent of both Matteo Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola, has spoken on how a proposed swap deal between Inter and Roma involving the players collapsed.

Both clubs looked set to complete a swap deal in the recent January transfer window. Terms had been agreed between the teams and both players had also even underwent medicals but at the very last minute the deal collapsed when Inter tried to change the terms of the agreement, much to the annoyance of Roma.

“Why did the deal collapse? That is a good question. The transfer market is like this, one plans and prepares things, but unexpected things happen. The only thing I can say is that I am proud of both of them, they are two exemplary professionals,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio earlier on today.

Upon the collapse of the deal, Napoli swooped in and struck an agreement with Inter and signed Politano on a loan with obligation to buy deal.

“I am convinced that Napoli is the right place for him, he has integrated well there and can do very well with the Azzurri.”

Since his arrival at the Stadio San Paolo, the 26-year-old winger has made four appearances across all competitions although he is still yet to make any goal contributions.
