Pordenone team manager Emanuele Berrettoni has confirmed that the Serie B club will hold talks with Inter over the future of Michele Di Gregorio at the end of the season.

Di Gregorio has impressed whilst out on loan at the Neroverdi club from the Nerazzurri and Berrettoni began an interview with FCInterNews.it by discussing how they came to sign Di Gregorio.

“We followed Michele over the past seasons, when he played for Novara and Renate. We have seen his excellent qualities as a goalkeeper, he is a serious professional who works a lot,” he said.

“We have good relations with the Nerazzurri club. Once we ascertained Michele’s qualities, we sent our proposal to Inter and reached an agreement.”

He then went on to discuss what he has made of the 22-year-old goalkeeper’s performances for the club, who are fighting for automatic promotion this term in just their first ever season in the second flight.

“He is having a great year and with the exception of the first two games, he has always been a starter. It is thanks to him and to the work he does daily with the group under the orders of Tesser.”

Berrettoni concluded by discussing the former Italy under 17 national team shot-stopper’s potential future with the club.

“It is early to understand what the future will be and what will happen in June. Di Gregorio is here on loan with an option to buy and Inter have a buy back option. It’s all very clear. In June we will sit down at the table with Inter and see what we can do.”

This season Di Gregorio, who is under contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 22 appearances across all competitions in which time he has conceded 28 goals and has kept a total of six clean sheets.
