Lega Serie A have officially announced that multiple games have been postponed today, due to the spread of the Coronavirus in the regions of Lombardy and Veneto, according to an official announcement.
The following Serie A matches have been postponed: Atalanta’s game against Sassuolo, Hellas Verona’s meeting with Cagliari and Inter’s game against Sampdoria. Two Primavera games have also been postponed, Atalanta’s meeting with Lazio and Chievo Verona’s game against Fiorentina.
Inter are still set to undergo their training session today, although extra security measures have been taken inside the club’s training ground in Appiano Gentile. The Nerazzurri now must wait to see UEFA’s decision regarding next week’s Europa League clash against Ludogorets, which is due to be played at the San Siro on Thursday.
The Coronavirus has been slowly spreading throughout the regions of Lombardy and Veneto, with the Italian government forcing the sporting events to be postponed in order to slow the spread.
