It is looking increasingly likely that Inter’s Europa League round of 32 second leg match will be played behind closed doors according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
The council for the Lombardy region will today make a decision as to whether or not there will be fans allowed into San Siro on Thursday for the match but in all likelihood given the advice from the ministry of health, it is almost certain the match will be played behind closed doors. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin will today take stock of the situation too.
One thing for sure is that the match will not be getting moved to a venue elsewhere in Italy or abroad down to the fact it is a logistical nightmare due to the lack of time before the game.
On Thursday night, only journalists, television broadcasters, club management, UEFA officials and security will be allowed in the stadium. Fans who purchased tickets for the match will be refunded.
