Inter have confirmed that they have put a number of precautionary measures in place in line with the decrees of the government for their match against Ludogorets tomorrow night.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy, the decision has been taken to play the game behind closed doors at San Siro to prevent any potential spread of the virus, of which there are in excess of 350 confirmed cases in the country, the majority of which are in the north of the country.

This is Inter’s second game to be affected by the outbreak after their Serie A match with Sampdoria was postponed this past weekend and it looks like yet more games are to be affected with it widely reported that Sunday’s Derby D’Italia with Juventus will be played behind closed doors at the Allianz Stadium.

“In compliance with the decrees issued by the Italian Ministry of Health, the Region of Lombardy and the other bodies involved, as well as the decree-law issued by the Italian government, FC Internazionale Milano is adopting all the necessary precautionary and preventive measures to protect the players and staff who will be working during the UEFA Europa League match between Inter and Ludogorets,” an official statement which the club posted to the official club website begins.

The club went on to discuss some specific actions that have been taken: “The Club has shown its full commitment in taking appropriate action, such as closing the hospitality areas and cancelling all activities that would have meant the gathering of people, in order to ensure that the match can take place safely.”
