Samir Handanovic’s condition could be tested today, if not tomorrow, according to a report in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Inter captain and number one goalkeeper has not played in Inter’s last five games due to a hairline fracture to the small finger in his left hand but he is now nearing a complete recovery.

Tomorrow night’s Europa League round of 32 second leg match at home to Ludogorets will come too soon for the Slovenian shot-stopper but the goal, since he got injured, was to always return for Sunday’s Derby D’Italia away to Juventus.

Inter are confident that the tests will bring good news with regards to the 35-year-old’s condition. If this is the case, Handanovic will train fully on Friday and Saturday to get himself ready to take on the Bianconeri.

This season Handanovic has made 29 appearances across all competitions in which he has conceded 29 goals and kept eight clean sheets.
