Federico Chiesa is getting increasingly closer to signing a new and improved contract with Fiorentina according to a report in today’s print edition of La Repubblica.

The winger is widely regarded as one of the most promising up and coming Italian talents and has long drawn links with moves to other clubs, including Inter, but now appears set to commit his future to La Viola, where he has spent his entire playing career.

The 22-year-old is already under contract with the Florence based club through to the end of the 2021/22 season and this new contract, as per the report, will see him tied to the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

La Repubblica go on to report that the new deal will come with an improved pay packet with Chiesa set to be given around €4 million per season.

Chiesa has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date this season in which he has scored seven goals and provided a handful of assists.
