May 20 is currently the only available date for Inter and Sampdoria’s postponed match to be played according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The game was originally scheduled to take place this past Sunday at San Siro but was one of four Serie A games postponed by Lega Serie A as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

It has been reported elsewhere that neither the league nor Inter ultimately want the game played on this day but changing that date to an earlier date entirely depends on how Inter fare in Europe, Gazzetta dello Sport insist.

Inter are currently in the Europa League round of 32 and head into tomorrow night’s second leg with reigning Bulgarian champions Ludogorets leading 2-0.

Antonio Conte’s Nerazzurri side are largely expected to progress at the expense of the Bulgarians which means Inter will have Europa League commitments on March 12 and March 19.

The quarter finals, should Inter get there, will occupy them on April 9 and April 16 and the semi finals are to take place on April 30 and May 7.
