This weekend’s Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter at the Allianz Stadium will not be moved to Monday March 2 according to a report in today’s print edition of La Stampa.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy, there has been a lot of disruption to football, with several games already having been postponed and many set to be played behind closed doors.

The local government in Piedmont have imposed restrictions until Saturday whilst the Italian government in general have restrictions in place until Sunday.

Due to these restrictions, it is expected that the match between the two great rivals will be played behind closed doors although there has yet to be any official word on this and Juventus are still selling tickets for the match.

The match could have been moved to the Monday when the restrictions will no longer be in place thus meaning fans could attend the match but Inter, as per the report, have rejected this idea due to their Coppa Italia commitments.

Moreover, the report from the Turin based newspaper goes on to suggest that the Piedmont government could well opt to extend restrictions for next week too.
