Inter were one of a number of clubs pipped to the signing of Bogdan Jocic by Hellas Verona this past Summer according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.

The Gialloblu club signed the young Serbian midfielder for little under €1 million from Red Star Belgrade but were far from alone in courting him.

As per the report, Inter, Napoli, Bologna and Torino all showed an interest in signing him as did Dutch giants Ajax but were simply not quick enough in getting to him.

The 19-year-old, who is primarily an attacking midfielder, has impressed whilst playing for Hellas Verona’s Primavera side and has even drawn some comparisons to compatriot Sergej Milinkovic-Savic due to the way he plays.

He has made 19 appearances at Primavera level this season in which he has scored three goals and tallied just as many assists. His form has also led to him being included in two of Hellas Verona’s match day squads.
