Davide Lippi, the agent of former Inter and now Napoli attacker Matteo Politano, has insisted that his client his very happy in his new surroundings.

Politano joined Napoli during the recent January transfer window in a loan with obligation to buy deal from Inter and has made six appearances across all competitions for the Azzurri club although he has yet to score any goals or tally any assists.

Lippi is however convinced that Politano will soon be performing to the best of his ability.

“Politano needs some time, he is slowly growing but now he is very happy. Napoli have made a great investment in signing him and they have a lot of belief in him,” he remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Marte earlier on today.

“Matteo has known Gattuso for a long time and Gattuso wanted him when he was in charge at AC Milan. Politano is happy to be in Naples even if it is not easy for a player to change teams in January. The real Politano has not been seen yet but will be seen soon.”

He then went on to discuss his client’s departure from Inter and whether or not he is seeking revenge on them for letting him go when the sides meet in the Coppa Italia semi final second leg next week.

“He is psyched up and he knows he can give a lot to this team and he wants to repay the trust of the city and club. Matteo is a professional, he wants to do his job well always. He will do his best against Inter, but there is no particular spirit of revenge. He was happy there.”

Politano joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 and spent 18 months with the club. During that time the Italian international made 63 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored six goals and tallied six assists.
