In an interview with Italian radio station Radio 1 Rai this evening, legendary World Cup winning Italian goalkeeper Dino Zoff has shared his views on the postponement of the Derby D’Italia between Juventus and Inter this past weekend.

Juventus versus Inter was one of five Serie A fixtures postponed by Lega Serie A in wake of the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic in Italy this past weekend as Serie A and Italian football faced a second week of disruption due to the virus, which around 1600 people have contracted as of today.

“Postponing Juventus versus Inter has created endless problems, as far as possible it was necessary to make a stop for everyone,: so it is a bit fake. It is not known if everything will be put in order in the next few days or if it will go on for a long time,” Zoff began.

He was then asked if all the disruption Juventus and Inter are facing could well help Lazio out in the race for the Serie A title with the Biancocelesti yet to have any games affected by the virus.

“Can all this confusion help Lazio? Inter and Juve do not I know how many games they have to play and certainly Lazio get tired less because they are out of the cups but beyond that there is confusion and the situation is unclear.”

Zoff had a 21 year playing career that saw him represent Udinese, Mantova, Napoli and most famously Juventus, where he spent 11 years in which time he won nine trophies.
