Former Inter winger Matteo Politano’s agent Davide Lippi has spoken on how his client has adapted to his new surroundings at Napoli.

Politano joined the Azzurri club during the recent January transfer window in a loan with obligation to buy deal, a deal which put an end to an 18 month associations with Inter.

“Politano is calm, he is trying his best to fit in at Napoli. Moving to January is always quite complex. Matteo is an exemplary professional, he will give his best,” he explained in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Prior to joining Napoli, Politano looked set to join Roma as the Giallorossi and Inter agreed terms over a swap deal that would have seen Leonardo Spinazzola head in the opposite direction.

Both players underwent medicals and the deal looked set to be completed but at the very last minute the deal collapsed when Inter tried to change the terms of the agreement, much to the annoyance of Politano, who was captured on video visibly upset when he had to return to Milan.

“Things went a certain way,” he said when asked on the collapsed swap deal.

Since joining Napoli, Politano has made seven appearances across all competitions although he is yet to make any goal contributions.
