Inter Will Only Sign Timo Werner If They Sell Lautaro Martinez In The Summer

Inter have begun seriously considering signing German striker Timo Werner, but only if Lautaro Martinez will be sold in the summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 24-year-old German striker, who is contracted to RB Leipzig until 2023, has a €60 million release clause. A tempting figure for a 24-year-old, who has a history of scoring in the Bundesliga, as well as having experience in the Champions League and with the German national team. Both Inter and Juventus have been following Werner for a while.

Inter would only considering signing Werner if they sell Lautaro Martinez in the summer, the report continues. The Nerazzurri would prefer to keep the 22-year-old Argentine forward, but Barcelona and Real Madrid are both seriously interested in signing him in the summer.

Werner has scored 27 goals and provided 11 assists in 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
