Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini is favoured to start over 20-year-old Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt in the Derby d’Italia against Inter tonight, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how Bianconeri coach Maurizio Sarri is still not sure which player he will deploy alongside Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci in the centre of the defence against Inter tonight, but for now Chiellini is favoured over De Ligt. The 35-year-old Italian, whose contract expires with the Old Lady at the end of the season, has only made three appearances so far this season, after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture after the first game of the season. He has still not played a full 90 minutes since then.
In the midfield, Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic is expected to start, the report continues. Alongside him will be Rodrigo Bentancur, who is favourited over former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, and Blaise Matuidi, who is favoured over former Paris Saint Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
