Getafe have been given special dispensation for their travel plans for their upcoming Europa League last 16 match away to Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Spanish club will travel to Milan on Thursday, the same day as the fixture, and will leave immediately after taking Inter on in front of an empty San Siro.
UEFA rules do not allow for teams to do this but due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy, European football’s governing body have allowed for Getafe to do this.
Rather than training at San Siro before the match, Getafe will just train at their Coliseum Alfonso Perez stadium tomorrow and the pre-match press conference will take place in Spain too rather than in Milan as would typically be the case.
Thursday’s match is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time and the second leg is due to take place next week with kick off scheduled for 18:55 local time.
