Inter back-up goalkeeper Daniele Padelli has been slapped with a €5000 fine and one match ban after being sent off in this past weekend’s Derby D’Italia away to Juventus.

Padelli did not hold back with his criticism of a decision made during the match at the Allianz Stadium and as per the Lega Serie A sporting judges report, Padelli was disrespectful to the fourth official, Fabio Maresca, 27 minutes in to the second half and this is why he was sent off.

The veteran shot-stopper found himself back on the bench due to number one goalkeeper and club captain Samir Handanovic, who he had been deputising for in recent weeks, returning to action.

Padelli, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2017 on a free transfer, made a total of six appearances across all competitions during Handanovic’s absence, during which time he conceded six goals and kept a total of two clean sheets.
