Manchester United are ready to give midfielder Nemanja Matic a new contract according to a report from British news outlet Manchester Evening News.

The Serbian national team midfielder’s current deal with the Premier League outfit is due to expire at the end of this season and as a result several clubs have shown an interest in signing him on a free transfer, Inter included.

Inter have in fact been linked with a move for the former Chelsea player for some time but they now look set to miss out with it understood that new terms have already been agreed.

Matic joined the Red Devils from Chelsea on a three year deal in the Summer of 2017 and has since went on to represent the 20 time English champions 109 times across all competitions.

The 31-year-old struggled to get into the team on a regular basis early on in the season, mainly due to injury but he has become a regular starter in recent months. He has made 22 appearances this term in which he has scored one goal and tallied two assists.
