There are Serie A and Serie B clubs that are ready to sue depending on how the current crisis Italian football is facing is dealt with according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

A new government decree means that all sporting activity in Italy has been postponed until at least April 3 and this means yet more Serie A fixtures have been postponed which has cast serious doubt over whether the season will be finished.

It is as yet unclear what action will be taken and if the league is cancelled, it remains to be seen how a champion will be decided as well as how European spots will be allocated.

Moreover, there is the issue of relegation and promotion. If the full season is not played out clubs at the bottom are sure to not take kindly to being relegated whilst those at the top of Serie B are unlikely to be happy if blocked from promotion.
