European football’s governing body UEFA are currently considering the possibility of playing the postponed Europa League matches at neutral venues according to a report from the online edition of Corriere della Sera.

UEFA confirmed earlier on today that off the back of the Spanish government imposing travel restrictions between Spain and Italy, both Inter versus Getafe and Sevilla versus Roma are postponed.

As per the report, games could be played in either Poland or Russia although it is unclear when they will take place and also unclear if two legs will even be played due to how busy the football calendar is.

The easiest solution to this problem would be for Spain to simply grant special dispensation for the teams to travel and if they were to do this, it could be the case that next week’s match, that was supposed to be the second leg, could become the first leg.

The second legs could then be played that weekend but in order for this to happen, Spain would have to follow Italy in putting a stop to domestic competition.
