Alexis Sanchez could stay at Inter but in order to do so he would have to take a really significant pay cut according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Chilean national team attacker joined the club on a season long loan from Manchester United this past Summer with the Premier League side paying a large chunk of his wages.

Manchester United are paying €6 million of the 31-year-old’s annual €11 million pay packet whilst he is at Inter, who are covering the remaining €5 million.

As per the report, Sanchez would need to agree to a salary of less than €5 million to have any chance of sticking around at the Nerazzurri club past the end of this season.

The former Barcelona forward has not exactly lived up to expectations in his time at Inter but has shown some glimpses of what he is capable of. He has made 15 appearances for Inter, in which he has scored one goal and provided three assists.
