Inter midfielder Borja Valero’s wife Rocio Rodriguez has confirmed that he is doing fine and currently showing no symptoms of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus.

After Juventus centre back Daniele Rugani’s positive diagnosis, Inter instantly placed those who were in Turin for last Sunday’s match against the Bianconeri into quarantine with veteran midfielder Valero among those.

In an interview with Spanish radio station Cadena Ser earlier on today, Rodriguez has revealed what it has been like having to spend the past few days at home.

“We can only leave the house for three reasons and they are work, medical reasons or to make purchases, otherwise you cannot go out,” she began.

“The Police are outside and you must fill in a form every time you wish to go out and give details of what you will do. If you do not respect the quarantine, you can be fined or even jailed.

“In Italy, people are like Spain, people are very sociable and love to be with each other but now there must be a minimum distance of one metre between you and others. You feel bad and it is mentally difficult.

“In the city the silence is deafening, really. Especially in the last two days after the last decree, the most restrictive. It is sad and you ask yourself will it end soon? You cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel because of all the uncertainty.”

She then went on to speak about her husband and his Inter teammates, who will be in isolation for just under two more weeks.

“Borja? He’s fine, he has no symptoms. After the Rugani news, the players are in quarantine. They cannot go outside and if I need something, I have to go out myself. He has some teammates who have no partners so they have to order everything online and they will be alone.”

In conclusion, she took the chance to urge people to follow the advice that the government and relevant authorities have issued.

“I am not a doctor but what I do know is that the only way to stop this is to stay at home. We can really help by staying at home.

“I told my family not to go to places where there are a lot of people and do not over-do things. At first I was not afriad but now I do not got out and I do all that I am told to.”

This season Valero has made 15 appearances across all competitions. In almost 900 minutes on the park, he has found the back of the net on two occasions.
