A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that Inter may not choose to redeem Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi in the summer.

The report details how reports yesterday highlighted how the Nerazzurri were certain to activate the buy option attached to Sensi’s loan deal. The player is on loan from fellow Italian side Sassuolo. Sensi started the season incredibly strongly for the Nerazzurri, scoring three goals and providing four assists in his first six games under coach Antonio Conte.

However, since then Sensi has missed over 16 games after suffering a tear in the abductor muscle in the first half of his first Derby d’Italia against Juventus, the report continues. Whilst Conte is a big fan of the 24-year-old, the January purchase of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen has reduced the spaces available in the midfield and Inter are worried about the injury risk of Sensi, should the problem continue to persist.
