European football’s governing body UEFA have decided to postpone this Summer’s European Championship’s according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The report explains that UEFA have come to this decision, which will be made official tomorrow when they meet with their 55 member associations, due to wanting to protect the leagues that they govern from facing devastating economic repercussions.

UEFA are yet to decide when the tournament will be rescheduled for. One idea that has been heavily speculated about in the media is that of moving the tournament to next Summer. Another idea is moving the tournament to this coming November.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to state that UEFA are yet to make their mind up about how they can resume both the Champions League and Europa League, which were both put on hold last week due to the current extraordinary circumstances.
