Juventus centre back Daniele Rugani has admitted he is feeling fine a few days on from testing positive for Coronavirus.
In an interview with Juventus’ official club broadcaster Juventus TV earlier on today, the Italian defender firstly spoke on his condition.
“I’m fine, I’ve been pretty good. I haven’t had the symptoms you read about in the news. I was lucky despite it being a good hit, because I was the first in our environment to get it. I hope it will serve to raise awareness.”
He then went on to discuss the reaction in the media to his positive diagnosis, with him being the first Serie A players to test positive and one of the first players across Europe’s top five leagues.
“It was a blow because there was a media boom. I thank everyone here publicly for the messages I received. I’m fine, rest assured. We will all overcome this situation.”
The former Empoli player then went on to discuss how he has found living in quarantine since his positive diagnosis.
“I’m practically finished all of Netflix! I recommend ‘The Invisible Guest’, it’s a thriller that doesn’t last long and it isn’t that serious.
“I’m missing the embrace of loved ones. I am at the J hotel alone, the quarantine is a bit long, and boring, but it’s like that for everyone. All the more so if you are alone.”
This season Rugani has made just seven appearances across all competitions. In 630 minutes on the field he has been unable to make any goal contributions but has helped the Bianconeri to keep three clean sheets when he has played.
Since Rugani’s positive diagnosis, a number of other players in the league have tested positive including Fiorentina duo Patrick Cutrone and Dusan Vlahovic. A number of staff at clubs have also tested positive for the virus including a doctor at Sampdoria.
