Inter have taken to social media platform Twitter to pay tribute to the late Joaquin Peiro who recently passed away at the age of 84.

The Spaniard spent two years with Inter between 1964 and 1966 and formed part of Helenio Herrera’s all conquering Grande Inter side.

Peiro made 47 appearances across all competitions during his time with the Nerazzurri in which he scored 16 goals and won every trophy possible.

Upon retiring in 1970, Peiro went into management and managed several Spanish clubs including Atletico Madrid.

“Peirò, a Grande Inter icon and the scorer of that memorable goal against Liverpool on 12 May 1965, has passed away. Ciao Joaquín, and thank you for everything,” the club posted.
