Barcelona have sparked an interest in signing Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella according to a report from Spanish news outlet AS.
The Blaugrana are looking to bolster their midfield department in the upcoming Summer transfer window and have identified a number of possible additions, with Barella among them.
Barella has impressed in his debut season with Inter having arrived at the club this past Summer in a deal worth €50 million from fellow Serie A side Cagliari.
Barella has become one of the pillars of Inter manager Antonio Conte’s team and could be a player that Barcelona acquire to replace Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal, both of whom are likely to depart the club for pastures new with Barcelona wanting to bring in younger players.
This season the 23-year-old has made 29 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2000 minutes on the field, Barella has scored three goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
