UEFA Have Communicated That European Leagues Must Be Completed By August 3rd

UEFA have communicated that European leagues have until the 3^rd August to finish the current season, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how UEFA have highlighted how the leagues need to be completed by the 3^rd August and must report the teams who will be competing in the European Cups next season. FIFA have already given the okay for contracts to be extended past 30^th June, allowing players to remain at their current clubs until the end of the season.

Considering the ongoing Coronavirus situation in Italy, the report continues, many expect Serie A to be completed by mid-July. A week of individual training is needed before three weeks of group training, which leaves the expected restart date to be in early June, allowing for a mid-July finish. Games are expected to be played behind closed doors, in order to limit the risks that the virus could spread further.
